The Center for Career Development (CCD) will be led without some of their top brass going into the new year. Dr. Manuel (Manny) Ruiz, Associate Director of CCD, will not be returning for the upcoming spring semester — and is no longer employed by the college, according to Lynn Garskof of the Office of Human Resources. He served the career office for almost a decade.
Ruiz accepted a position elsewhere, said someone familiar with the CCD office, while Jim Duffy, Interim Executive Director of CCD, declined to comment on the position or the location where Ruiz has accepted his new role.
Ruiz had served Gettysburg College as the associate director since 2008 and played a role in putting together the college’s first full-time job and internship fair, revamping Gettysburg Works, and implementing the Entrepreneurial Fellowship Program.
Duffy, who is also the Associate Dean of College Life, has been at the helm of CCD since longtime employee and former Executive Director Kathy Williams retired — after servicing Gettysburg College since 1998. A search for a full-time executive director is now underway, and a replacement for Ruiz will follow.
