From classics like Uno to the more unusual like Rick and Morty: Total Rickall , Games club has a little bit of everything. If you’re a hardcore Super Smash Bros player or just someone who likes to play board games with friends, you can usually find someone to play against here.
Since the start of the fall semester, many new members have joined the club. Each member has brought with them new games to play at meetings.
“I didn’t start the club. The majority of members from last year were Juniors and Seniors. I’m currently trying to rebuild it, and make a place for people who don’t want to party on weekends,” said club president Simon Valez.
As the club roster continues to grow, we will inevitably branch out to a wider variety of games.
Currently the most popular game played in the club is Magic the Gathering — a collectible card game in which players use the land itself to cast powerful spells against their opponents — but there are several more games that members enjoy.
“I first visited the club because of a classroom event. I was able to watch how the club ran and I was intrigued, so I decided to go again the next week and I’ve been going ever since. My favorite thing about the club is that it’s really laid back, but at the same time fun to be a part of. The club grows with each personality that joins it.” – one of the Game Club members
“Games Club is great because it’s more like a community than a club,” said President Valez.
The club may soon begin holding special events and tournaments with potential prizes. Meetings are on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 PM in Glatfelter 104.
